Hiller's Confectionary Supplies (also known as Hiller's Country Market) is a small, family-owned store, located between Ashland and Mansfield, Ohio. Our store is located on Township Road1656 which comes off of the intersection of St. Rts. 42 & 603, S. We are located one mile up the road on the left-hand side. You will pass a cemetery, go down a dip in the road and we are up on top of the hill.
Hiller's Confectionary Supplies was opened on March 28, 2006 under the name of Hiller's Country Market from a long-time dream of mine. I, Kathy, will be the person you most-likely will see when you enter the store as I remain the only employee with the occasional help from my mom, Helen. This is my pride-and-joy store. The store was originally opened to highlight the beef, pork and chicken that my husband raises along with selling bulk foods.
Because over the past several years the dynamics of the store has completely changed, I am in the process of changing the name of the store. Although I still carry the meats that my husband raises, there is very little bulk foods to be found within the store. It has completely changed over to being the area's (several county area) largest candy making and cake, cupcake, cookie decorating supplier. I carry just about everything you could possibly want to make your confectionary dream item. Although my store is small, I have been told by customers that I have a much better selection than larger specialty confectionary stores found in Akron and Columbus. If I don't have it, I do my absolute best to get it in for you. I am all about helping my customers.
Although the changeover of the store was never in my plans, I am so very grateful that it was God's plan as I am enjoying every minute of this ride I find myself on with God in control.
I love getting to know my customers and hearing all about their upcoming projects and seeing pictures of the completed projects. I am not a cake decorator myself (I enjoy making chocolate candies), I have learned a lot from my customers and I am able to pass on some of that knowledge to those starting out.
God has been so amazing through all of this and has even allowed me to open up a smaller version of my store down close to where one of our daughter's live. Our daughter Molly lives outside of Parkersburg, WV and has two of our four grandchildren. To give me more excuses to go down and visit and help pay for my expenses of going down, I opened up:
